Wednesday September 28th, 2011, a really close friend of mine, I’ve been in school with him since second grade, was killed in a car accident. Not only that, but he has been the seventh teen from my high school to die in the last fifteen months. Last school year, two students were killed in a car accident involving a single vehicle, another died in a head on collision, then another was invloved in a car accident but was trapped in a coma until he passed almost two months ago. Plus, one of our teachers passed after having complications with open heart surgery. Now, in the last two or three weeks a former student, he graduated in 2010, took his own life while attending UGA, a freshman commited suicide because of being bullied, she was only FOURTEEN, and the Principle from a local middle school died. Lastly, my close friend was on the way to school Wednesday morning with his mother and was struck by a semi-truck. I hope he died instantly. His mother is in critical condition and may not survive. Then, last night, I out that the police are going to try to charge his mother for vehicular manslaughter for the death of her own son. That is complete and utter FUCKING BULLSHIT. Isn’t it enough that her youngest child died in a horrible car accident. AND the driver of the semi-truck was: one, talking on a cell phone; two, going way over the speed limit; three, ran a red light. (The police say his mother failed to yeild, but a girl in my class saw it happen, it was the car right behind her. She said the light had just turned green.) Anyways, this is starting to get really friggin’ ridiculous and parents are thinking about transfering their child/children to a different school because of all the deaths. Maybe our high school really is cursed.
